[3.3.x] Support Forum • Upgrading from 3.3.13 to 3.3.14

I am going to upgrade my phpbb 3.3.13 to phpbb 3.3.14.

I do not use FTP usually. I have so far just uploaded the files through webserver Dashboard - File Manager to public_html.

Can I not do the same now also? If FTP is compulsory, I can use it.


What I am now thinking of doing is to upload phpbb 3.3.14 to public_html.


I have deleted the following from the phpbb 3.3.14 that is there in my computer:

The config.php file

The files/ directory

The images/ directory

The store/ directory

I have stored my existing config.php file in my computer.


Then there is this instruction:

On your website, delete all files from your board EXCEPT for:

The config.php file

The ext/ directory

The files/ directory

The images/ directory

The store/ directory

The styles/ directory


If I delete everything else from the board, I will lose the files I have placed in various folders including Images.


There are other folders also, which I had created.


So, what is the option that would be there for me?


Would there be a Merge option?

I have done this upgrading one time, some time back. I do not exactly remember how I did it that time.
