Not for the basic three columns. Might be for some of the content, depending on what he wants. You don't even need flex on a phone. Block is just as good. Flex is only useful once you can stack them in a row.Isn't grid better than flex for this?
Come to think of it, back before flex was supported I did a multiple column footer using display: table-cell; which is remarkably adaptable if you set it up right. You can make it do what that extension does: adapt automatically to any (reasonable) number of enabled columns.These days flex makes more sense though.
